County Fair with the Bread Monk

Event Date:
Jul 24 2021 - 1:00pm

On Saturday, July 24th, at 1:00 p.m. central time, the LaSalle Public Library will virtually host Father Dominic Garramone, the Bread Monk, when he presents, “County Fair.”

Wary of large crowds but missing the foods of county fairs?  In this unique presentation, Father Dominic will step through the process of making funnel cakes, elephant ears, and corn dogs, and his own original creation, Hog Bottom Rolls.   Father Dominic will answer questions at the end of his presentation and will provide a link to all featured recipes.

Father Dominic Garramone, OSB is a monk of Saint Bede Abbey in Peru, Illinois. He was the host of the PBS cooking show, “Breaking Bread with Father Dominic,” from 1999 to 2001, and has written several cookbooks. Father Dom says he got his culinary education ''between my mother's kitchen, PBS and the public library.''

This program is free and open to the public and will be presented via Zoom.  To register for this program, please use the following link –  https://bit.ly/3hCkaPO
