Library Services for October

For the month of October, the LaSalle Public Library will offer access to public computers, for up to 30 minutes, upstairs in adult services.  Visitors are asked to use the Marquette Street entrance, which is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and to check-in at the circulation desk.  All visitors are required to wear a face mask and hand sanitizer will be available.  If visitors are unable to climb steps, they can go to the 3rd Street/Route 6 entrance and ring the doorbell.  Staff will let them into the building for elevator service.  In addition to computer service, visitors using the Marquette Street entrance will also be able to browse and checkout materials from the Young Adult and Adult collections, fax, make copies and print-outs, and get help with reference and computer questions, as well as reader advisory.

To provide the best visitor experience, and because any materials touched are required to be placed in quarantine, Youth Services, located downstairs, will be browsable by appointment.  A gloved staff member will help families locate and select their materials.  Pre-requests for youth services materials can be placed via phone by calling the Library at 815-223-2341.  For families looking for suggestions, a phone call prior to the visit will be helpful in finding just the right material choices.

Curbside service and/or delivery of materials to individuals living within the LaSalle City limits are both available.  For more details about these services, please call the Library at 815-223-2341.   Access to online materials, such as e-books, full-text magazine articles, genealogy resources, and archived virtual programs are available on the Library’s website at www.lasalle.lib.il.us. The Library continues to host, on most Tuesday evenings, at 6:00 p.m., virtual programs.  Information on upcoming programs can be found on the Library’s website, Facebook or by calling the Library at 815-223-2341.

Visitors can learn more about the Library, as well as get remote and/or homeschooling resources daily by visiting the Library on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LaSallePublicLibrary.
