The LaSalle Public Library has 8 computers available in the adult section of the library for many purposes. The Microsoft Office Suite including WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, POWERPOINT and PUBLISHER is available for public use. There are also 4 computers available in the Youth Services section of the library. We have several educational games available for use on these computers. Please ask at the Youth Services circulation desk. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult when using the computers. Computers may be used for a half hour at a time; however, if there is no waiting, patrons may continue up to three hours. No files may be saved to the hard drive of the computers. Internet access is available at the Library. Children
under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a Permission
for Use of Electronic Networks / Internet
form. Once library staff verify the signature, children between
12 and 18 years of age may use the Internet. Children under 12 must be

The LaSalle Public Library provides free Internet access points or “hot spots” for users with portable computers or devices capable of receiving wireless signals, during normal library business hours. These access points allow users to access the Internet from their laptop computers when sitting within range of the access points. The wireless Internet access offered is unfiltered. Persons utilizing the wireless connection agree to comply with the provisions of the current LaSalle Public Library “Electronic Networks / Internet Policy”. This policy states the limitations of internet access, patron’s responsibilities for using the access and provides examples of acceptable and unacceptable uses. Patrons also agree to comply with the provisions of the current LaSalle Public Library "Wireless Access Policy". Click here to view our Wifi brochure. The LaSalle Public Library is networked with 4000 other libraries in the state of Illinois as well as other libraries in the United States. If we don't own the title you are looking for, we can request the title on interlibrary loan from other public, academic school and special libraries. As long as your library card is in good standing, staff are available to send requests. Please note that there may be a fee for materials from some libraries out-of-state.
A meeting room that seats 50 adults theater style is available for community use. An Application for Reservation and Use of Meeting Room form must be filled out and returned to the Library when requesting use of the meeting room. Individuals and groups may request use of the meeting room according to the Meeting Room Policy of the LaSalle Public Library.
A copy machine is available for public use. Staff are available to assist patrons. Ask at the circulation desk for fees associated with making photocopies.
Individuals may send or receive faxes. Fees for sending long distance faxes are $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. Fees for sending local or toll free faxes are $1.00 for the first page and 50 cents for each additional page. Fees for receiving faxes are $1.00 for the first page and .50 cents for each additional page.
The LaSalle Public Library features an ongoing book sale. Ask at the circulation desk in the adult services area for prices on used books.
