Library Programs Canceled in Response to Coronavirus

In accordance with the Library’s commitment in taking steps to limit the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19), the Library has canceled library-related programming and events through March 31st, effective immediately.   Staff would like to stress that these safety measures are being taken out of concern for the health and safety of the community, and not due to any known exposure.

Programs that have been canceled include Tail Waggers with Pam and Vera, Tail Waggers with Lauren and Kenai, Story Time with District 122 LaSalle Schools, Story Time, Lego Mania, and the Easter Story in Art.  Also, outreach visits to HeadStart and class visits with Trinity Catholic Academy have been canceled.

AARP Tax Assistance representatives have also canceled all remaining appointments for March and for April.  As to the Library being open, at this point, we will be open today as normal and on Monday.  We will post if this changes.

As an information resource center, the Library encourages patrons and the public to use common sense when gathering in public places.  Frequent handwashing is encouraged, as is using tissues when coughing or sneezing, avoid touching your face, and staying home when sick.  The Library has hand sanitizer and tissues at both circulation desks for the public to use.  Library staff has been sanitizing frequently touched surfaces, e.g., desks, railings, door handles, light switches, computers, elevator buttons, toys, and any other hard surface, several times a day. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding at this time.
