Beginning on Tuesday, February 11th, the Library will host a free tax assistance program. Experienced tax preparers from AARP will be available, by appointment, to assist low- and middle-income families and senior citizens with filing their tax returns. This program is administered through the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS.

All federal and state forms will be filed electronically. Individuals are asked to bring their Social Security Card or Statement, Driver’s License or State ID, proof of all income, a copy of their current property tax bill, and a copy of last year’s returns. If filing jointly, both parties must be present at the appointment, unless they have Power of Attorney.

Appointments are in 30-minute increments, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Last appointment of the day will be at 2:30 p.m. The LaSalle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette, LaSalle, Illinois and is ADA compliant and welcoming. For more information, please call the Library at 815-223-2341.
