Library Selected to Participate in NASA's GLOBE Observer Citizen Science Program

We wanted to share some really exciting and awesome news! The LaSalle Public Library has been selected by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) as one of four national pilot test sites to evaluate materials, and test a series of activities for NASA's GLOBE Observer Citizen Science program.

Citizen Science is a fascinating and valuable way that anyone can participate in, collecting data through observation. Observations and activities include GLOBE Clouds, GLOBE Mosquito Habitat Mapper, and GLOBE Land Cover.

This pilot program is open to children ages 6 and up, families, teens, adults, and/or classes or youth leaders.  It is absolutely free to participate! As this is a test program, scheduling from GLOBE is still being finalized. Specific dates and times will be forthcoming, based on interested participants.

If you would like to participate, please take a moment and fill out the online form below.  On the form, more details about each observation group are provided.
