Enlightening and Inspiring Generations with Generations of Ideas

I am a Scientist! - Valentine's Chemistry

Event Date:
Feb 17 2018 - 10:00am

This program requires registration and is limited to 25 participants. Please call the Library to register!

Red and pink have never been so outrageous! In this program, participants will produce a considerable exothermic reaction with Pink Elephant Toothpaste, learn about polymers by creating Sparkling Valentine’s Slime, and explore density and solubility with Valentine’s Oil and Water…an experiment and a Valentine tale of two molecules destined to be forever parted by chemistry.  Participants who wear red will get a sweet surprise; (forget to wear red and get a surprise anyway! It’s outrageous!)

“I am a Scientist!” with Laura Robinson is especially for children, ages 4 through 9, with a parent or an adult caregiver. Approximately an hour-long, this program is designed to provide children with fun hands-on science learning made memorable through play.

This program is free and open to the public. Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The LaSalle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette, LaSalle, and is ADA compliant and welcoming. For more information or to register, please call the Library at 815-223-2341.
