LaFarge Donation Supports Free Tutoring Service at LaSalle Public Library

Patrons of the LaSalle Public Library will continue to have free access to Tutor.com, a premiere live chat tutoring service available 361 days a year from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. thanks to a generous $750 donation from LaFarge North America.

Tutor.com is a service for students, Kindergarten through college that provides problem-solving strategies and explanations, in the after-school, evening and weekend hours. It is equally suited to assist adult learners. Job seekers, too, can use the service to get feedback and suggestions on cover letters and resumes, and Tutor.com’s website includes an Adult Services menu, where users can find help in locating job openings and interviewing tips.  LaSalle Public Library cardholders can access Tutor.com, free, from home, school, work, or in the Library. For visitors who do not have a LaSalle Public Library card, Tutor.com may be accessed by visiting the LaSalle Public Library in person; staff will assist these patrons with accessing the service from the Library.

Lafarge North America includes approximately 900 locations including a site in North Utica. They are the largest diversified supplier of construction materials in the United States and Canada, with products that are used in residential, commercial and public works construction projects.  The LaSalle Public Library is located at 305 Marquette, LaSalle, IL.
