An Evening with James Janko & Marydale Stewart

Join us on Tuesday, November 14th, at 6:00 p.m., for an evening of books, authors, stories and insights into writing fiction when James Janko of LaSalle and Marydale Stewart of Spring Valley read from their newly-published novels, The Clubhouse Thief and The Wanderers, at the LaSalle Public Library.  At this informal program, the authors will share excerpts from their books, encourage discussion and answer questions. The program will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the library’s biography room on the main floor and is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments. About the Authors:

James Janko’s short stories have appeared in The Massachusetts  Review, The Sun, and many other  magazines. He won a 2002 Illinois Arts Council Award for Fiction, and his earlier novel,  Buffalo Boy and Geronimo, received wide critical acclaim and won the Association of Asian American  Studies 2006 Prose Award and the 2007 Northern California Book Award for Fiction.

Marydale Stewart is a retired English teacher and librarian. She has a
chapbook, Inheritance  two poetry collections, Let the Thunder In and Riskand a
novel, The Wanderers.  She has poems in a number of literary magazines.
