Free Tax Assistance @ the Library

On Tuesday, February 21st, and continuing on every Tuesday through April 11th, the Library will host a free tax assistance program.  Experienced tax preparers from AARP will be available, by appointment, to assist low and middle income families and senior citizens with filing their tax returns.  Appointments are available on a “first come, first serve” basis, and can be made by calling the Library at 815-223-2341. This program is administered through the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS.

All federal and state forms will be filed electronically.  Individuals are asked to bring their 2015 tax paperwork, a photo I.D, all income for 2016 taxes, Social Security card, and Proof of Insurance, if not covered by Medicare.

Tuesday, February 21st
9 a.m. to 10 a.m., 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to noon,12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, February 28th 
9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m. to noon, 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., 1:15 to 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
