Woody Guthrie: Bound For Glory

Event Date:
Mar 24 2015 - 6:00pm

Join us, when the LaSalle Public Library hosts the life, times and rough and tumble story of America’s balladeer, Woody Guthrie.  Brought to life by Barry Cloyd,  in this one-man original presentation, Guthrie’s stories and songs chronicle America’s human history of struggle, work, and spirit that saw America through the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, World War II and the McCarthy era.

With the passion of Guthrie himself, Cloyd is a consummate and accomplished folk musician.  In this remarkable performance, Cloyd captures the essential Guthrie  in songs like “This Land is Your Land” that have become such a significant part  of America’s national heritage.

This is a free program, open to the public.  Funding for this program was made possible through the Alwin C. Carus Trust.
