Space Exploration Exhibit
at the LaSalle Public Library
June 4th to June 7th, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Join us for "Journey to Tomorrow," a premier, multicomponent NASA traveling exhibit for young and old alike. Enjoyable and enriching, this free, interactive informal learning exhibit is outfitted with six user-friendly computer displays and hands-on workstations that communicate fascinating discoveries and cool facts about the history, technology and challenges of air and space exploration. Workstations let you try glovebox activities, learn about planetary gravity, and let you find out how much you would weigh on the moon and other planets. Real Apollo moon rocks and models of space vehicles, rockets and launch systems extend the learning into three dimensions. The entire exhibit is accessible for persons using wheelchairs.
Inside the library, you can examine a display of the Mars rover, and, using an X-Box simulator, try landing the Curiosity Rover on Mars. Don’t forget to get your free photo souvenir at NASA’s photo kiosk.
The exhibit is part of the LaSalle Public Library’s summer program, "Space for Curiosity." Funding for "Journey to Tomorrow" has been provided by the Alwin C. Carus Trust Accommodations for NASA personnel have been donated in-part by Days Inn, Oglesby, Illinois. Parking areas made available by Trinity Catholic Academy and Kaskaskia Holdings.
