Books & eBooks
The LaSalle Public library has a collection of over 63,000 books and eBooks. Adult Fiction/Non-Fiction and Young Adult Fiction/Non-Fiction may be found on the second level of the library. Youth Services houses Easy Fiction/Non-Fiction for our youngest readers as well as Juvenile Fiction/Non-fiction for children 8 years of age and older.
The LaSalle Public Library subscribes to the following newspapers:
Hard copies of all newspapers except the NewsTribune, are kept for two months. The NewsTribune is kept on microfilm from 2003 back to 1906 and on CD-Rom from January 2004 on.
Current copies of magazines for adults may be found on the upper level of the Library. The most current copy may not be checked out, however, older issues circulate for a two-week period. Magazines are generally kept for one year plus the current year. The Library also houses a collection of some magazine titles on microfiche. Contact the Library for specific title and holding information.
The magazine collection for youth include American Girl, Cricket, Muse, LEGO Club, National Geographic Kids, and Spider. These are located downstairs and may be checked out for a two-week period.
The LaSalle Public Library subscribes to several investment titles. The titles are located on the upper level of the Library and include:
- Value Line
- Standard and Poors
- Wall Street Journal (newspaper)
- Investor's Business Daily (newspaper)
- Barron's (newspaper)
Audiobooks & eAudio Books
Adult and Young Adult audio books are located on the upper level of the Library and may circulate for a period of two weeks. Youth audio books are located in the Children's Room. Check out our eAudio book collection available for download too.
Large print books area available from patrons with vision impairments or for those who just like to read larger print.
Spanish / Bilingual
The LaSalle Public Library houses over 1,000 titles in its Spanish and Bilingual collection. The collection is divided between adult, juvenile and easy books and includes fiction and non-fiction titles. The collection includes books in French, Korean, Chinese, Slovenian (with Bilingual English), German, Hmong, Dene and Vietnamese as well as Cree (with Bilingual English) and Esperanto.
Over 1,000 adult and juvenile DVDs are located in the AV section of the upper level. Ten DVDs may be checked out at one time for a three day period.
